TYPES OF WOOD

Our collection features a variety of British hardwood species, each with its own unique grain patterns and natural appeal. We stock slabs of Oak, Elm, Sycamore, Cherry, Walnut, Ash, London Plane, Yew, Beech, and Burr variants, all sourced from responsibly managed British woodlands. Each wood species has its distinct qualities:

Oak

Known for its strength and versatility, Oak offers a classic, timeless appeal with a rich grain and sturdy durability.

Elm

Featuring a beautiful, wavy grain, Elm is perfect for adding character and charm to any project.

Sycamore

Light in colour with a fine grain, Sycamore is ideal for creating smooth, sleek surfaces.

Cherry

Ash

In addition to our Shrewsbury kiln-dried hardwood, we also offer air-dried fully seasoned hardwood, as well as pieces that are in the air-drying process and have yet to fully season. We also stock a variety of other native hardwoods not listed here, and we frequently update our inventory to offer fresh, unique options. We also provide a slab levelling service to help prepare each piece for its intended use, ensuring a smooth, stable finish.
